Hungarian Hot Wax chilli plants are annual plants that belong to the Capsicum annuum species. They typically grow to a height of around 2 to 3 feet (60 to 90 centimetres). The chilli peppers produced by Hungarian Hot Wax plants are medium-sized, typically measuring around 4 to 6 inches (10 to 15 centimetres) in length. They have a slightly tapered shape, resembling a wax or banana pepper. The peppers start off pale yellow-green when young and gradually ripen to a bright yellow or golden colour. Some peppers may develop red streaks when fully mature.
Hungarian Hot Wax chili peppers are considered medium-hot on the Scoville scale. They typically range from 5,000 to 15,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU), similar to jalapeño peppers but slightly milder.
